ΕλληνικάThe Church of Our Lady in Anogi Ithaka, built at an altitude of 500m, is one of the largest, most important and oldest churches in the Balkans. It rate Royal large dimensions (length 30m and a width of approximately 10m) and as said built portionwise 700 years ago. The interior of the church is very interesting, since it is all covered with Byzantine style frescoes and for this reason has been declared by the Ministry of Education since 1959 as a protected historical monument. The multiple layers of icons indicate that the church was demolished and rebuilt. Next to the temple, rises imposing Venetian belfry built in 1682.
